THE SANCTUARY – Tingira Heights is cluster of six independent dwellings, each containing several spacious, private suites. Each dwelling can be utilised by separate groups with room for a career, and different levels of support furnishings are available. Purpose-built and fully accessible, each dwelling has a well-appointed kitchen along with airy living, dining and outdoor areas, so participants have the choice to cook, relax and entertain in relative privacy.

Community Facilities

The Sanctuary staff are here to help all their guests and participants take advantage of their local community services and sites with regular community outings to local events and attractions. If you prefer to stay home, there plenty of things to do on site as well. Whatever you want to do, we are here to help. Our team value the individual and choices that promote the best outcomes for you. We welcome ideas you can bring to make your stay fun, enjoyable and rewarding.

We are situated very close to the lake and beaches, local shops and walkways on the shores of Lake Macquarie and nearby Mt Hutton, Belmont and Warners Bay. Keep an eye out for our events calendar and come join us for something that appeals to you. We welcome your family and friends to visit and enjoy what we have to share.

Whether you are here with us for a short time (STA) or are looking for a new place to call home (SIL) we are confident you will love what you see and feel here with us.

Community members of The Sanctuary are offered enriching activities that promote socialisation, but as always, we respect personal choice regarding participation.

Regular bus outings take our participants to social outings, as well as scenic drives throughout Newcastle, Lake Macquarie and the Central Coast. Our staff are always on the lookout for interesting venues to visit for morning tea, lunch or afternoon tea, and if the weather is fine, we enjoy picnics and strolls in gardens and parks.

Participants are encouraged to treat The Sanctuary as they would their own home. With no set visiting hours, family and friends are welcome to visit their loved one whenever they please.

Registered NDIS Provider

THE SANCTUARY – Tingira Heights is a registered NDIS provider and can accommodate your existing NDIS packages for you with no fuss.

Alternatively, if you have not yet applied for NDIS, our staff are more than happy to provide information and contacts to assist you in this process.
